Grand Theft Auto VI is easily one of the biggest and most anticipated games out there. With Grand Theft Auto V’s immense success and the lengthy gap between releases, we’re still uncertain when the next game will arrive. Even Rockstar Games is not fond of sharing information, as all we’ve received from them so far is that the game is in development. But for a good while now, it’s been speculated about just when Rockstar Games would first showcase the title, along with when it would arrive in the marketplace.
There’s nothing official quite yet on the next game’s release. However, a new rumor is circulating online. It appears a voice memo has gone out online that has the CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, stating Grand Theft Auto VI will be revealed this October, and its scheduled launch date would be October 2024. But so far, that has left some fans wondering if this is actually legitimate or not. There’s nothing here quite yet to prove one way or the other. Really, much like how Gamerant reported, this file could easily have been nothing more than a fake AI rendition of Strauss’ voice.
We’ve seen plenty of convincing fakes in the past for video games. With Grand Theft Auto VI being one of the more anticipated titles in the works, it’s consistently finding fake rumors and leaks surfacing online. Likewise, with just how advanced AI has become, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that this voice file is a fake. Really, all we can do is wait and see if this coming month brings anything at all in terms of a new announcement for the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
