Ten years is a long time to roam Los Santos, yet players have been doing so fervently ever since Grand Theft Auto V and its online mode launched in 2013. Rockstar is celebrating the milestone with new events in GTA Online, including items inspired by the single-player version of the game.
The ten-year milestone happened this past Sunday, with Rockstar celebrating the milestone on their newswire blog. Rockstar called the last ten years of support by players «truly humbling.»
«As Grand Theft Auto V turns 10 this coming Sunday, we would like to thank you, our players, for your incredible support over the years. This amazing community is the reason GTAV has thrived across multiple console generations and given us the opportunity to grow and update GTA Online with new features and content over these past 10 years, and your support is truly humbling. A massive thank you to anyone who has ever played, streamed, roleplayed, created, or shared from the world of Los Santos and Blaine County!»
GTA Online is getting some updates to celebrate, including outfits inspired by the three protagonists from the main game, Michael, Franklin, and Trevor, which you can earn simply by logging in before September 27th. Weapon finishes from the main game will also make it into the online mode, and you can earn bonuses in the form of 4x GTA$ and RP in Lamar and Trevor's contact missions during the course of the celebration event. Franklin's missions dole out 2x the GTA$ and RP during the event as well through September 20th.
