Halsin's Actor Didn't Think That Many Players Would Bonk A Bear In Baldur's Gate 3

Oh, Halsin. He has so much going on, what with running the Druid Grove (not very well) and trying to end the Shadow Curse. Alas, the Baldur's Gate 3 companion will always be best known for one thing, and one thing only - you can have sex with him while he's in bear form.

Halsin actor Dave Jones was obviously aware of this before launch, since he was the one who had to record the dialogue discussing the horny deed. Now, speaking at EGX, Jones reveals that he didn't think many fans would be up for some bear-on-humanoid action. How wrong he was.

This reveal came about when Jones attended a panel at EGX with other members of the Baldur's Gate 3 cast. Everyone was asked to recount their favourite line from the game, and the audience immediately burst into laughter when it was Jones' turn - his hesitation immediately made it clear that his choice came from that scene.

"I didn't think that a lot of players would actually choose that path," said Jones, knowing that we all knew what he meant. "But, it's got to be, [Halsin voice] 'You... like it?'"

As you may have guessed, this line comes in during the famous Halsin romance scene. Part way through, He'll get a little too excited and shift into his bear form. When he's composed himself, he'll apologise. However, you have the option to say, "Don't apologise. I like it." Cue Halsin's response and, well, you've seen the rest.

Jones' rendition of the line in front of a live audience was met with laughter and applause, and it's not surprising to hear that this is the line that stuck out to him. What is quite shocking, however, is that he thought players wouldn't flock to this option en masse. Frankly, he had far too
