Sony Interactive Entertainment could be planning to bring PlayStation trophy support to its PC games.
That’s according to data from TrueTrophies, a site that scans trophy lists directly from the PlayStation Network.
According to the site, it recently detected a new PS5 trophy list with an additional platform listed alongside it: “PSPC.” The list in question reportedly isn’t attached to any particular game and appears to be a test.
It’s claimed that the “PSPC” platform listing refers to a new platform separate from the PS5, yet one that might still connect to the PS5 platform.
The listing follows the addition of PSN support to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC last year. While the game does not feature trophy support, it offers players in-game rewards in exchange for linking their Steam and PSN accounts.
While PlayStation Studios games on PC – such as God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone and Spider-Man Remastered – can be played without the need to sign up for a PSN account, this isn’t necessarily the case with Xbox Game Studios titles, which requires an Xbox Live account for some games on Steam.
While some titles (such as Minecraft Dungeons, Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Psychonauts 2) don’t need players to create an Xbox Live account, other notable Xbox Game Studios titles do. However, this comes with the benefit of shared Achievements and shared save progress.
