Apple May Launch a New iMac This Month
A new iMac may arrive as early as this month.
Apple’s last update for the iMac came in April of 2021; however, a new 24-inch iMac is reportedly on the way and may launch by the end of October, Bloomberg reports.
In his weekly PowerOn newsletter, Bloomberg Apple reporter Mark Gurman says that supplies of the iMac and iMac Pro are currently low in stores as Apple prepares to launch the newest models later this month. If you try to order an iMac from Apple’s retail store it also won’t ship until November, suggesting a new model may be on the way.
German says he expects the launch to happen either October 30 or 31st ahead of Apple’s earnings call on November 2.
Typically the company holds its earnings calls in late October. The last time the call was scheduled for November was in 2018 following an iPad and Mac event that was held on October 30.
While we’ll likely see the launch of the 24-inch model this month, German says that Apple will likely launch a Pro version of the computer in late 2024 or 2025. That version of the device is expected to have a 32-inch display, making it the largest iMac in Apple history.
Apple debuted the iMac Pro in December of 2017. The highest spec of the all-in-one computer runs close to $14,000.
