Confirming a leak from earlier in the year, Sonic Superstars will indeed be heading our way on 17th October, 2023. Flippin' heck, October is busy.
The news comes at the end of this new trailer for the side-scrolling platformer, with an emphasis on the game's multiplayer aspects. While you can play the game solo, it's also fully playable in up to four player co-op. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy each have their own abilities, and can all take advantage of the new powers imbued by the Chaos Emeralds as you collect them.
In addition to co-op, the game features a battle mode, a competitive mode that has you creating custom characters and either racing through stages or knocking each other off-screen. It looks like good, light-hearted fun, and it's not far off, launching in just a couple of months.

Interesting strategy to release a few days before Mario...
Coop Sonic sounds like fun
Nice! I had my doubts, but this really does look like fun. One of only two games that I still plan on buying this year too (The other one being Mario).
The leak was correct. Spider-Man 2, Mario and Sonic all within 3 days…..
That’s a bold release date. Might as well just release it next February for like $10 and save themselves some embarrassment.
