At long last, Baldur's Gate 3 is on console. The early access period on PS5 had just started, giving anyone with the Digital Deluxe Edition the chance to play a few days before its full launch. Unsurprisingly given all the hype, many fans were counting down the seconds until they could play, only for some to be met with disappointment.
Dozens of players are sharing graphical issues they've encountered as soon as the title screen, as the port seems to not support HDR mode at launch. Those with the higher-end graphical setting enabled say it has caused the colours to become oversaturated, making the game extremely unpleasant to look at. They're calling on Larian to fix the issue as soon as possible, but having just launched the game, we're yet to hear of a hotfix that would amend the apparent bug.

Having pre-loaded the game myself, I hopped on to see if I could emulate the issue. My monitor doesn't support HDR, and I had no graphical issues to speak of. Toggling performance mode off couldn't replicate the bug either, so it's possible that anyone affected just has to switch HDR off in their PS5 settings.
Still, it's quite a shocking screen for players to encounter when they boot up one of the most hyped games of the year. Numerous users have documented it too, so it's not an isolated incident.
Thankfully, the replies also indicate that turning off HDR is working, so that may be what's causing the issue here. Anyone affected will just have to sacrifice the quality for a bit until a fix is rolled out. I haven't taken my own Baldur's Gate 3 journey very far yet (alas, I am working today), but having got past the character creator screen, I saw no issues there either.
