Delta Force is a series of military FPS shooters which began all the way back in 1998 and came to PlayStation with PS1's Urban Warfare (the fifth game in the franchise). Creator NovaLogic shuttered back in 2016, and its assets were acquired by THQ Nordic, which in turn, was swallowed by a bigger fish, the Embracer Group. Now, a pre-Gamescom teaser has revealed the series will live again and is set to be fully revealed at Gamescom's Opening Night Live.
Producer Shadow Guo spoke to IGN and said that the game's campaign would follow the classic Ridley Scott war flick, Black Hawk Down. In addition, Delta Force will support large-scale PvP multiplayer, featuring combat on the ground, sea, and air. Guo outlined what's on offer, stating:
«Our team has extensively studied the movie and delved into the historical context respectfully. This dedicated research enabled us to recreate a truly authentic and immersive gaming experience that captures the essence of that monumental event. To create a grand atmosphere of combat on ground, sea, and air, we designed a variety of methods for engagement and maps that integrate diverse terrain features such as vertical height differences and caves, as well as different vehicle routes.”
