Intriguing station wagon survival game Pacific Drive now has an ETA of sometime in Early 2024, as developer Ironwood Studios reveals a delay is necessary to «stay true to ourselves, and not compromise on the teams well being». The game previously had a release window of 2023.
Pacific Drive caught our eye when it was announced in 2022, with the idea of a «run-based, first-person driving survival game» intriguing us. In a statement (thanks, Gematsu), Irownwood explained the reason for the delay:
«As summer comes to a close, we’d like to share that Pacific Drive is moving its release to early 2024. This decision gives us room to make Pacific Drive the best it can be while still prioritizing the health of our team. As many know, we’ve been hard at work bringing this idea to life for quite some time, and every day adds even more to a game we’re all proud of. In this final stretch, however, it’s important to us that we stay true to ourselves and not compromise on the team’s well-being.»
The team also teases that Pacific Drive will be on the main stage for the imminent Future Games Show, which purports to show off more than 50 titles.
