The idyllic house even sports a connected garden filled with plants and greenery, accessible by a bridge that joins the two rocky islands to one another. To make the building stand out even more, the creator even placed it in what appears to be a quarry, simulating the harsh environment from which Aerith and her mother have reclaimed their peaceful sanctuary.
It's no wonder Ok_Foundation950 opted to build Aerith's home in given how iconic it's become amongst the community. While it may only briefly appear in the original, its role is expanded upon further in even though the story beats are very similar. Cloud is first introduced to the location when he escorts Aerith through Midgar's slums, eventually meeting Elmyra, her mother, who asks him to leave her daughter alone. Barret's daughter Marlene also takes refuge there when Shinra detonates one of the city's structural plates, destroying a large section of the surrounding town.
