Stellar Blade’s launch date is approaching pretty quickly, as we’ll be zipping around and slashing up enemies as Eve in just a couple of weeks. To prepare themselves as much as possible, fans of the title have been using the demo to get some practice in, adjust to the game’s combat, and get some grinding down to ensure they’re nice and ready.
However, some of you have been playing the demo so much that Stellar Blade’s own developers are starting to get a little concerned. On the game’s official Twitter account, Shift Up has explained that while it’s “grateful” for the fans that are loving Stellar Blade so far, it’s also asking people to “go easy” on the demo, with some racking up over 50 hours of playtime.
That sounds a little odd from a developer that is hoping to drum up enough attention to make their game a smash hit, but it makes a lot more sense when you remember that your progress in the demo carries over to the main game. You will undoubtedly have some people grinding on enemies to try and unlock as much as possible before launch, and grinding too much could inadvertently ruin the full package, as you’ll be overleveled for the game’s early stages.
When it comes to why people are spending dozens of hours in the Stellar Blade demo, we only have two explanations. First, we know that Stellar Blade is going to be a challenging game, so it could be that some players are just grinding as much as possible to make it easier for themselves and remove any potential roadblocks that might halt their progress.
On the other hand, we have the true gamers who see Stellar Blade’s challenge and go out of their way to make it harder. Game director Kim Hyung Tae recently explained to fans that they should have Eve wear as much clothing as possible to make the game easier, as the infamous ‘Skin Suit’ that has her stripped down to her skivvies actually removes her shield as well, making you much easier to kill.
