Developer Microbird and Curve Games have confirmed that the action RPG Dungeons of Hinterberg will be available from July 18th, for PC and Xbox Series X|S. It has also been confirmed that Dungeons of Hinterberg will be available on Xbox and PC Game Pass on day one too.
Dungeons of Hinterberg’s four biomes have different magical powers that main character Luisa can use to help in exploring the world to solve puzzles as well as combat. For example, the magic skills that you get in Kolmstein includes a magical hoverboard and a light ray that allows you shoot at objects from a distance. When you acquire these skills you can test them out to get to grips with them at skill shrines before moving on. There are gloop like growths that can be destroyed to replenish health and mana points, and the in game currency is called hinterbucks which can be gained from combat and exploration, such as finding them in chests.
In Dungeons of Hinterberg, Luisa can spend her days either going into dungeons or just exploring and finding somewhere to relax as she is technically on holiday. There are shops to find too, where Luisa can buy food and potions. Some dungeons cannot just be entered though. Instead, challenges need to be completed before they open. One example is having to complete a racecourse to open a portal to a dungeon. The video ends just as Luisa enters the portal so we do not see the dungeon.
A playtest for Dungeons of Hinterberg will be taking place from May 9th to May 16th on PC, with those interested able to sign up through the game’s Steam page. The playtest will allow players full access to the game.
