Adapted from the novel by Benyamin, Aadujeevitham is based on a true story. Notably, the book was banned in Khaleeji nations other than the UAE, leading to the movie being banned in those countries. Moreover, it took the film almost 15 years to hit the big screen since Blessy first read the story in 2008.

During an interview, the lead actor described the plot and said, “This is the story of a man who has to spend time in the desert for 3.5 years, and in the final stages of Najeeb’s desert life, he started to move away from human existence. It’s now tough for him to speak to humans. He can’t even phrase lines with multiple words as he adapted to more animals (Goats) than humans now.” Additionally, Prithviraj lost around 31 kgs for the role of Najeeb. He fasted for up to 72 hours and only drank water and black coffee.
