At long last, it seems like the launch date for the Silent Hill 2 remake could very well be announced in two days. Earlier today, KONAMI confirmed a new Silent Hill transmission will be broadcast on YouTube on May 30 at 4 PM Pacific Time.
The Japanese publisher teased 'game updates, a deeper look at the film, and new merch.' However, Polish developer Bloober Team (Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair Witch, The Medium) shared its own tweet, telling fans they are thrilled to invite them to the transmission. It seems like an obvious hint that we'll get significant Silent Hill 2 remake news at the broadcast, which, at this point, could only be the launch date.
After all, we know that Bloober Team has been focusing on other projects since the beginning of the year. Moreover, CEO Piotr Babieno said the marketing campaign was forthcoming, signaling a launch in the not-too-far-off future.
Following several rumors, the Silent Hill 2 remake was finally announced in October 2022 to be heading to PC and PlayStation 5. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, it will reportedly stick faithfully to the original's story while improving the game in other areas, such as visuals, camera view, and combat. The latter will benefit from fully remade enemy AI to make encounters more interesting.
