Season 3 of Diablo 4 introduced a new type of dungeon known as vaults, and lots of gamers are angry about them. The latest season of Blizzard's action RPG, dubbed the Season of the Construct, launched on January 23, bringing plenty of new content to fans. Diablo 4 has seen lots of patches and updates since releasing last year, and this new season was anticipated to shake up the title in significant ways.
The patch notes for Diablo 4's season 3 update revealed loads of exciting additions to the game as well as various tweaks and improvements to existing characters, powers, and items that are sure to impact the meta in the coming year. One of the biggest additions this season, however, is the introduction of Vaults as a new challenge for veteran players to overcome. Unfortunately, however, these dungeons don't appear to be getting the kind of reception Blizzard likely hoped for.
Currently, lots of Diablo 4 fans are venting their frustration online about Season 3's Vaults, particularly citing the traps that guard these locations. It seems that many players are finding these traps deadly and difficult to avoid, making these challenge unfair and frustrating. On Reddit, for example, user Anatole-Othala has argued that Vaults are so bad that they must not have been play tested before release.
Issues with difficulty have already arisen this season with Diablo 4 nerfing a Season 3 boss after complaints about its difficulty. Of course, Vaults are not just a boss but a new game mechanic that is a core part of the season, meaning problems with them could be a bigger problem for Blizzard. With this season kicking off the new year, a negative reception of Vaults could spell concern for Diablo 4 going forward.
