DanMachi – Memoria Freese, the RPG inspired by the hit anime Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is counting down to its final days. In Japan, that is, since the rest of us already saw it shut down on February 28th, 2024.
Those still playing can expect to wrap up their own final chapter come June 24th. During the shutdown of the English version, players were offered refunds on unused paid currency post-shutdown. Japanese gamers get this, too, but with an extra cherry on top! You guys get a memorial archive app to keep the game’s spirit alive.
Although DanMachi – Memoria Freese JP version has been going strong since it launched on June 29th, 2017, it isn’t enough. Just five days before hitting its seventh anniversary, the developers are winding things down at 3 PM on June 24th.
Well, they’re crafting a ‘Memorial App,’ or in other words, a story-only app in offline mode. It’ll act as a digital scrapbook that lets you relive some of the game’s standout moments. On June 24th, at 6 PM, you can update the DanMachi – Memoria Freese to switch over to memory lane mode.
Wright Flyer Studios is turning to crowdfunding to finance the Memorial App along with a memorial book. It’s an uncommon route for a game’s closure but shows they’re keen to make the send-off ‘memorable’. The crowdfunding starts at 7 PM on May 1st and wraps up on June 21st.
Well, after about seven years of dungeon-running and monster-slaying, it’s time to say goodbye. DanMachi – Memoria Freese has had quite the innings as a mobile-exclusive title, especially in Japan. Just before wrapping up, don’t forget to join the special live stream at 9 PM, on April 26th.
When services grind to a halt on June 24, the team will also start considering the refund requests for any unused Paid Rainbow Crystals. For more FAQs and in-depth info, hit up their official page.
