Channing Tatum has joked that he owes Kristen Bell's husband, Dax Shepard, an apology for her reaction to Magic Mike. Magic Mike first hit theatres back in 2012 and tells the story of several male strippers in Florida. The film, starring Tatum and helmed by Ocean's Eleven director Steven Soderbergh, is loosely based on Tatum's real-life experience as a male stripper. Magic Mike quickly found a following and got a 2015 sequel, entitled Magic Mike XXL, this time directed by Gregory Jacobs.
In the wake of the Magic Mike series' success, Tatum went on to produce a live show based on the movies, Magic Mike Live. The show is marketed as a 360-degree entertainment event based on the film series. Currently, there are productions of Magic Mike Live running in Las Vegas and in London. Back in February, Bell was interviewed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and said she had a chance to see Magic Mike Live in London. She described the show as electric and joked that the experience of seeing it was akin to her getting married to her husband, Shepard.

Of course, when Tatum made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this week, the host brought this comment up. Tatum stated that he was very touched by how much Bell enjoyed the show and mentioned that he owes her a phone call to thank her personally. He went on to mention that he will also «probably have to apologize» to Shepard as well as they are close friends, adding a final «sorry, Dax» to the camera. See his full quote below:
«I owe her a phone call, and just a thank-you because that was, like, the most sweetest thing. I know Dax really well, so I probably have to apologize for Dax. Yeah, sorry, Dax.»
