Benny was off to a rough start on Below Deck Down Under season 1, and seemed to get on Captain Jason Chambers' bad side almost immediately. He did not like working under bosun Jamie Sayed and had a problem with following orders on the first charter. While Benny started off as a divisive cast member, he has quickly become one of the brighter spots in an already entertaining crew. Fans are loving his now-playful relationship with Captain Jason, especially when the captain forced him to wear a disco ball helmet when he was acting up.

Although Benny loves working as a deckhand, he has found other callings when he is not out at sea. The Australian native now lives in Tulum, Mexico and still manages to spend a majority of his time by the water. On Instagram, Benny shows that he is environmentally conscious, and has participated in several beach cleanups to preserve the beach areas around him.
