To celebrate the return of in-person events, Tinder is teaming up with live event producers for Festival Mode, which is designed to help people find new concert buddies.
The new feature helps music lovers break the ice and connect over shared interests like communal camping, scorching temperatures, eco-friendly crafts, and Beyoncé.
"Festival Mode bridges the gap between online introductions and IRL connections by allowing Tinder members to find fellow festival goers before the show," according to Tinder, which says more than 60% of singles report having become friends ("or more") with people they met at a music festival or concert.
Live in Tinder Explore, Festival Mode invites users to select which events they plan to visit this year; they can then match with other attendees in the dating app as early as one month before the show. A separate "Festival Goers" space, meanwhile, is open to anyone who can't find their preferred party in the app, or simply want to connect with other fans of the culture.
"People around the world are returning to festivals in record numbers," says Maureen Ford, president of national and festival sales for Tinder partner Live Nation. "Live events create some of life's most unforgettable moments largely thanks to the people we enjoy them with."
Tinder currently lists more than 20 of the world's biggest festivals, including The Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, and Stagecoach in the US; Lollapalooza Paris, Berlin, and Stockholm; the UK's All Points East; and more across Australia, Hungary, Norway, Spain, and the Netherlands.
