The director of Pig, Michael Sarnoski, is set to write and helm the feature film adaptation of Nick Drnaso's 2018 graphic novel, Sabrina. The story of the award-winning novel revolves around a grieving man who, after his girlfriend named Sabrina goes missing, decides to live with his best friend, who happens to be an Air Force surveillance expert agent coping with a failed marriage. Sabrina's disappearance goes viral after a gruesome videotape is anonymously sent to multiple news outlets, prompting conspiracy theorists to target the two men as it threatens their sense of truth and tests their faith in each other.
Now, according to Deadline, Pig director Michael Sarnoski has been tapped to take on writer-director duties for the feature-length movie adaptation of Sabrina. The project will be produced by New Regency and RT Features producer Rodrigo Teixeira (Ad Astra, The Lighthouse). It is unclear when filming for Sabrina will begin. However, it's been said that it will not be Sarnoski's next project, as A Quiet Place III is expected to be his sophomore directorial venture.

The American filmmaker has been earning raves since helming last year's Nicolas Cage-starrer, Pig. The drama film received critical acclaim at the time of release and racked up a highly-impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 97%, winning numerous indie awards in the process. Drnaso's debut graphic novel has garnered similar success since its publication, making myriad year-end best-of lists in 2018 (including The Guardian and The New York Times).
