The Wheel of Time star Rosamund Pike will star in a new film from Promising Young Woman director Emerald Fennell titled Saltburn. Aside from The Wheel of Time, Pike is known for such films as Gone Girl, Die Another Day, and I Care a Lot. Fennell made her feature-length film writing and directing debut with 2020's Promising Young Woman, a revenge thriller starring Carey Mulligan that received rave reviews and an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

Now, according toDeadline, Fennell's highly anticipated next feature will star Pike and is titled Saltburn. Many details of the plot are still unknown, but what is known is that film will follow a lavish, aristocratic English family. Fennell herself has previously starred in British period dramas such as The Crown, Call the Midwife, and Vita & Virginia.
A filmmaker's second film, especially one that follows a critically acclaimed debut is always a challenge in terms of meeting viewers' expectations. That being said, Fennell's familiarity with British aristocracy from her acting career should come in handy while filming Saltburn and may lead to yet another hit like Promising Young Woman. Whether the film will be based on real people, or whether Fennell will create an entirely new family of her own remains to be seen. Now viewers will have to wait and see who will be sharing the screen with Pike as pre-production on Saltburn continues.
