343 Industries is currently working on a fix for a gun jamming bug affecting some Halo Infinite weapons.
The studio acknowledged the issue on Friday, shortly after the launch of Halo Infinite Season 2, a process it has also described as regrettably “bumpy”.
“The ‘jamming’ that’s happening to semi-automatic weapons (most noticeably the BR) is not an intended mechanic,” said 343 senior community manager John Junyszek.
“It’s a bug that was introduced when addressing a rapid-fire exploit. We’re working on a fix now.”
Hours earlier, Junyszek said reward tracking issues with the game’s new time-limited event were being resolved.
“For the Interference Event, Last Spartan Standing challenges should now be tracking more accurately and helping you earn rewards,” he wrote. “There may be a delay if you leave early, but all progress should count once the match finishes in the background.”
He also addressed community complaints regarding changes introduced to restrict certain traversal techniques.

“We’ve seen the feedback around changes that impacted various multiplayer jumps and campaign speedrun strategies,” Junyszek said.
“We’re not at the point where we can promise anything yet, but want to be transparent and say that we’re taking the feedback seriously and reviewing options internally.”
Following up on Junyszek’s comments, Joseph Staten, head of creative for Halo Infinite, admitted Season 2’s launch hadn’t gone to plan.
