Sandra Bullock explains whyco-star Channing Tatum’s ad-libbed lines were cut fromThe Lost City.In addition to Tatum and Bullock, the new rom-com adventure is stacked with fan favorites Brad Pitt and Daniel Radcliffe. The film is the first big budgeted rom-com to arrive in years, though Bullock certainly isn’t a stranger to the genre, having made a name for herself in the 1990s and early 2000s with films like While You Were Sleeping, Forces of Nature and Miss Congeniality.
For fans of the 1984 Robert Zemeckis film, Romancing the Stone, The Lost City might sound a bit familiar. The film focuses on disgruntled romance writer, Loretta Sage, whose book tour gets wildly thrown off course when sinister billionaire, Abigail Fairfax (Radcliffe), kidnaps her in an attempt to translate an ancient text she’s familiar with. The text reveals the location of a lost treasure known as the Crown of Fire. The only hope for help ends up being Alan – more commonly known as Dash, the muscular cover model whose image frequently appears on Sage’s books. Dash isn’t quite the lionhearted force of nature that Sage’s books have made him out to be, but nonetheless, he represents the closest thing to an actual rescue plan that exists. With the help of his guru, Jack Trainer (Pitt), the plan is fully set in motion.

So far, The Lost City is getting some positive reviews and delivering the sort of comedic adventure that audiences haven’t seen for quite some time. But while the film is proving itself to be filled with laughs, the cast also seems to have had a great time making it.
