The need to replay Destiny 2's campaigns on multiple characters has been a consistent complaint among many in the game's community, and Bungie is going to address it with new character boosts players can pay for coming in Lightfall. Players have been able to purchase character boosts since the Spark of Light boost in Forsaken and have subsequently undergone some changes since then to its current version, which can boost players up to 1510 power level, slightly above The Witch Queen's soft cap of 1500. Along with the various other changes coming in Lightfall, character boosting will get a refresh with two new options to purchase after players reach one of two requirements for the boost.
Lightfall is set to bring numerous changes and new features to Destiny 2, coinciding with the arrival of The Witness and the full might of its Black Fleet to the Sol System. One of the most prominent additions will be the new Darkness subclass Strand, a subclass Bungie has described as granting guardians the ability to weave and manipulate the connective threads of the universe. Other features set to arrive in Lightfall include the overhauled buildcrafting system, Guardian ranks, and commendations, along with the major sandbox update, which has been the norm for the release of expansions.
