There have been several 2.2 leaks and rumors so far, ahead of the update’s release in early May. The next patch for the turn-based RPG by HoYoverse is expected to continue the main campaign questline set in Penacony, the Planet of Festivities. This will be the third major update in the new destination, introduced earlier this year with the release of Version 2.0. There are a few details that have already been confirmed for Version 2.2, such as the new playable characters, though that pales in comparison to the information provided by leaks in.

For the upcoming patch, HoYoverse has revealed two new playable characters: Robin and Boothill. Both these heroes are confirmed to be 5-star units, though their gameplay styles are expected to be very different from one another. Robin is a Harmony character, which means she takes on a support role in team comps, while Boothill is a new Hunt unit, specializing in dealing massive single-target damage. Both deal Physical DMG, though little else has been officially revealed. Nevertheless, many leaks outline their skill sets, as well as reveal more upcoming content, including a new Trailblazer form in 2.2.
Aside from the two new playable characters, it is rumored that there will be a third unit added with the patch in the form of a new Trailblazer variation. The new Trailblazer form has been leaked and it seems like players will finally be able to unlock an Imaginary DMG protagonist who follows the Path of the Harmony. Since this is a flex character who is capable of changing their Path and Element based on necessity whenever they are in the spotlight, this seems fitting.
