Canadian developer Behaviour Interactive is buying the Netherlands' Codeglue.
No figure has been placed on the deal, which sees the studio become Behaviour Rotterdam. Codeglue was founded back in 2000 and has worked on a huge variety of games, such as Shadowrun Trilogy, Human Fall Flat and Descenders.
This is the third European expansion that Behaviour has made in 2023 so far, following SockMonkey Studios – now Behaviour UK North – and Behaviour UK South, which comprises veterans of Antimatter Games.
“We are very pleased to build upon our strategic expansion into the UK by establishing our first presence in continental Europe,” Behaviour co-founder and CEO Rémi Racine (pictured) said.
“The addition of Codeglue’s experienced team further enhances the capabilities of our world-class Services division. We are always eager to pursue opportunities that align with Behaviour’s needs and culture, and Codeglue represented a clear match on both these fronts.”
Peter de Jong, Codeglue's co-founder and now Behaviour Rotterdam's GM, added: “Codeglue and Behaviour have much in common, having experienced the gaming industry’s many evolutions over the past 23 years. Over that time, we have always admired Behaviour’s work and culture. We are thrilled to be the newest chapter in their success story.”
