Bayonetta Director Hideki Kamiya Is Leaving PlatinumGames
thegamer.comBayonetta and The Wonderful 101 director Hideki Kamiya announced in a tweet that he is leaving PlatinumGames on October 12, later this year; "This came after a lot of consideration based on my own beliefs, and was by no means an easy decision to make. However, I feel this outcome is for the best. I will continue to create in my Hideki Kamiya way. I hope you'll keep your eyes peeled."
PlatinumGames also shared a letter about Kamiya's departure on its official Twitter account, "We are truly grateful for his creative ideas, leadership, and contribution to the growth of PlatinumGames from our start-up to this very day. We believe that he will continue to succeed in his future endeavours as a game creator. We are looking forward to seeing the game industry grow into a better place with him in it. We wish him all the best for the future!"

Kamiya co-created PlatinumGames, then called Seeds Inc., in 2006 with Shinji Mikami, Tatsuya Minami, and Atsushi Inaba. He's been with the company for 17 years, currently serving as vice president, but you'll almost certainly know his earlier work. He started his career at Capcom where he was known for directing Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry. He even worked on the very first Resident Evil game alongside Mikami. What he'll do next is anyone's guess, but based on PlatinumGames and his own statements, it's clear he isn't done making games yet.
