Blizzard is celebrating the release of Season of Blood for Diablo IV by asking players to donate their own blood in return for in-game rewards.
Between Oct. 20 and Nov. 20, any player in the US aged over 18 can visit a blood donation center to give blood and then provide proof of the donation to Blizzard as part of its "Diablo Blood Harvest." As the total amount of blood donated increases, so do the in-game rewards available to those who take part.
Blizzard is hoping to achieve a total of 666 quartz of blood donated, but will be unlocking "crimson-coated cosmetics" when the donations hit 33%, 66%, and 100% of the desired 666 quartz total. As an additional incentive to donate, Blizzard is going to run a sweepstakes. Assuming the grand total is achieved, a custom liquid-cooled gaming PC is up for grabs.
We don't know what the PC will look like, but Blizzard shared the basic spec. It will include an Intel Core i9 processor, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, 3TB of SSD storage, and a Quantum vector GPU waterblock.
Diablo IV Season of Blood unlocks a new questline, power, seasonal world event, and gear. And with the announcement of this promotion, it could help save quite a few lives as well as potentially seeing a few blood banks overrun with people eager to donate.
