Fortnite enjoyed its biggest 24-hour period in history over the weekend, thanks to its Fortnite OG event.
According to a tweet posted on the game’s official Twitter account, the game saw record player counts on Saturday, November 4.
“Way to start things off with a big bang,” reads the tweet, which was posted on Sunday. “We’re blown away by the response to Fortnite OG.
“Yesterday was the biggest day in Fortnite’s history with over 44.7 million players jumping in and 102 million hours of play. To all Fortnite players, OG and new, thank you!”
According to third-partner Fortnite trackerFortnite.GG, the game hit its all-time peak concurrent players during this period, with a peak of 6,172,463 people playing the game at the same time at one point.
Initially launched on November 3 and running until December 2, the month-long Fortnite OG season promises to take fans of Epic‘s battle royale on a trip down memory lane.
The Fortnite map has reverted to the Chapter 1 island, meaning players will be able to battle it out across returning points of interest including Tilted Towers, Risky Reels, Greasy Grove and Loot Lake.

“Throughout Fortnite OG, each major update will bring a different phase of Battle Royale’s past, starting with Chapter 1 Season 5,” Epic said in a blog post last week.
“That means Shopping Carts, ATKs, the Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, and more in both Battle Royale and Zero Build.”
Returning players may be in for a slight shock, however, because last month the price of Fortnite V-Bucks was increased in numerous regions, including the US (and other countries that use USD in Fortnite) and all Eurozone countries.
