The show is set in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh and revolves around the story of Akhandanand Tripathi (Kaleen Bhaiya), the mafia ruler of Mirzapur. The political crime drama series has been extremely popular amongst the audience.

The second season left viewers wondering whether Guddu Bhaiya (played by Ali Faizal) was able to take control of Mirzapur or Kaleen Bhaiya (played by Pankaj Tripathi) managed to hold on to the power. The third season will feature a battle of the power struggle and document a lot of action, suspense, and drama.
According to Jagran, the cast of Mirzapur Season 3 includes Pankaj Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Ali Fazal, Amit Sial, Anjum Sharma, Sheeba Chaddha, Rajesh Tailang, Bhuvan Arora and several others who are yet to be announced.
The official synopsis for Mirzapur reads:
“The iron-fisted Akhandanand Tripathi is a millionaire carpet exporter and the mafia don of Mirzapur. His son, Munna, is an unworthy, power-hungry heir who will stop at nothing to inherit his father’s legacy. An incident at a wedding procession forces him to cross paths with Ramakant Pandit, an upstanding lawyer, and his sons, Guddu and Bablu. It snowballs into a game of ambition, power and greed that threatens the fabric of this lawless city.”
