As one of the most anticipated games of the year, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is expected to perform well in sales. According to Christopher Dring of Games Industry, it debuted “comfortably” at the top on this week’s UK physical charts and is the fourth biggest boxed launch in the region this year.
It’s behind The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, EA Sports FC 24 and Hogwarts Legacy. However, Dring also noted that physical launch sales are down 20 percent compared to God of War Ragnarok last year. They were also down “significantly” from Marvel’s Spider-Man. However, digital distribution has progressed since 2018, so we’ll see where it stands when the GSD sales data becomes available.
