Baldur's Gate 3's Narrator Would've Romanced Karlach
We asked Amelia Tyler who her favourite character is in Baldur's Gate 3, and while she couldn't land on a definitive favourite after having spent so long in their heads during her time as the game's narrator, she did say that her romance pick would go to Karlach, the fierce barbarian tiefling.
"I have to hold off judgement because I haven't gone through the whole game yet," Tyler told us, debating her number one character in Baldur's Gate 3. "There are lots of situations where I know the narration that goes alongside that character and I'm really fascinated to see how they're brought to life. I can't pick a favourite because I've narrated, especially the companion characters, their entire experience of this game as them.

"I've been through all their highs and lows. I've seen them at their best and their worst. It's almost like having best friends. So, I can't pick a favourite in that I know all their flaws and all their strengths [...] If you've only played the game once or twice, you've maybe only seen one side of them [...] It's knowing all those different sides of a character. I think it will really open people's eyes to how complex people are in real life [...] As for romance. Karlach, that'd be Karlach."
Karlach has been incredibly popular ever since she leaked, let alone since she finally joined the roster of companions in the full release. You can either rope her into your campaign as one of your party members, or you can play as her thanks to the origin character mechanic.
After Baldur's Gate 3 left early access, her Magic: The Gathering card shot up in price, rising from $2 to $5.90 - people are in love with Karlach, understandably.
