Kaitlyn Siragusa, better known by her online moniker Amouranth, has been banned from Twitch yet again. While the development marks her ninth Twitch ban to date, this particular suspension could either be permanent or lead to her leaving the platform for good regardless, with Amouranth already suggesting as much.
Boasting over 6.3 million followers as of March 2024, Amouranth is currently in the top 30 most popular Twitch streamers. Although she was once quoted as saying Twitch originally reached out to her to start a channel as part of its 2015 content diversification push, she has long had a rocky relationship with the nowadays-Amazon-owned platform. That's primarily because her broadcasts commonly toe the line between what is and isn't allowed on Twitch.
In yet another testament to that trend, the streamer has once again had her channel suspended on March 30. This is Amouranth's second Twitch ban in 2024, as well as her ninth overall suspension. The generic notice currently attached to her channel cites «a violation of Twitch's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service» as the reason for her latest ban. While the Amazon subsidiary isn't in the habit of commenting on individual account sanctions, such a move may not be necessary to explain its decision to suspend Amouranth's channel for the ninth time.
Namely, the latest version of the Twitch Community Guidelines specifically prohibits all content «that focuses on intimate body parts for a prolonged period of time.» The majority of content that Amouranth streams nowadays can reasonably be classified as such. The new policy went into effect on March 29, with Amouranth being banned during her very next broadcast the day after. Social media reports from her viewers indicate that she was playing with one of her dogs in a bikini during the interrupted stream.
Amouranth has never been banned from Twitch for long, with her three harshest bans lasting just three days each, according to data compiled by third-party tracker
