Although many eyes are on the current line-up of Xbox Game Pass titles, Microsoft isn't one to rest on its laurels and is clearly planning ahead, as a new day one 2024 game has been confirmed: Dead Static Drive. Details are scarce, but whenever the game releases in Q3 2024, it'll do so as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
Recently, Xbox Game Pass added Valheim, and it added Civilization 6 on March 16. Ni no Kuni 2, MLB The Show 23, Infinite Guitars, and Way to the Woods are also currently confirmed to join Xbox Game Pass later this month.
Xbox Game Pass Adds New Game with 300 Hours of Content Today
Dead Static Drive is a horror survival adventure game, with players set on the open road, forced to hijack vehicles, and more, all with horror themes tied to it. It will require players to survive in a world that is falling apart, manage friendships, and face people who are also fighting for their survival. Players will have to «sneak, scavenge, fight, befriend, barricade, bunker-in, and steal cars» to survive, forcing players to decide what to do with the little time they have left. The dev has described it as «Grand Theft Cthulu» for its general horror themes and, of course, car-stealing crimes, though this does not suggest it is a game like Grand Theft Auto.
While it may be surprising to already hear about an Xbox Game Pass title set for 2024, it's actually not the first. In February, Xbox Game Pass confirmed Magical Delicacy as a day-one 2024 title. This game is described as a Metroidvania side-scrolling adventure title, where players deliver various baked goods to citizens of a magical town, all as a young witch named Flora. LikeDead Static Drive, there is very little confirmed about Magical Delicacy as of this writing.
