Baldur’s Gate 3 was released last year and quickly became one of the most talked about games in quite some time. It’s a title that fans have gravitated towards and shared their enjoyment online. With unique characters, a thrilling storyline, and plenty of means to go back and replay the campaign, it’s not surprising to see clips and screenshots flood the web. However, there was an issue for Xbox users who found that their uploads were causing their accounts to be suspended. At first, this was thought to be an issue with some kind of automated system in place.
However, we’re finding out now that this is something Microsoft is actively seeking out and suspending accounts. To clarify, this is not an issue with every clip and screenshot. There is safe content to share from this game online, but as you all are likely aware, Baldur’s Gate 3 is a mature title. Included in the game is sexual content, which is something that Microsoft is fighting back. It looks like sharing these sexual clips on your Xbox account is something that Microsoft has a firm stand against.
We reported in the past how it looks like individuals from Larian Studios are not fond of players getting hit by the uploads of their game. However, Xbox Support on the X social media platform has clarified that they are actively viewing the content by moderators. It’s not an automatic process, so someone is viewing the content and determining if it violates their safety and content policies. If it does, the clip is removed.
To provide clarity on Baldur's Gate 3 mature content enforcement actions, Xbox account suspensions are not automatic. Each clip is reviewed by a moderator and, if found in violation of our safety and content policies, actioned accordingly.
