Launching with three different editions, the most recent iteration of the series promises to let players relive the extensive history of the WWE and will include a variety of famous wrestlers, old and new, to play as and against.
While the series took a break from its yearly, numbered entries in 2020 and 2021, releasing only the in 2020, the franchise hasn't missed another year since the release of and looks to be keeping the streak going with. Like past entries, can be expected to be supported with DLC releases after launch until the release of the next game in the series, similar to the DLC packs for , and will include several different game modes.
is set to release on March 8, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, as well as on past generation consoles PS4 and Xbox One — although those who order the Deluxe or 40 Years of Wrestlemaniaeditions will be able to play three days earlier on March 5. With a roster of over 200 wrestlers, promises to be an improvement on past entries, adding several new features and iterating on existing ones to create the definitive experience. Featuring on the covers of are «American Nightmare» Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, and Rhea Ripley, with Rhodes featuring on the cover for the Standard Edition and Belair and Ripley sharing the cover for the Deluxe Edition.
