NIS America will publish the latest game in the Ys series, Ys X: Nordics, this autumn / fall in the west. The action RPG originally launched last September in Japan, and a localisation announcement has been on the cards ever since.
Nordics features recurring Ys protagonist Adol Christin, but this time around, he shares the spotlight with a young warrior named Karja. The game's fast-paced combat system revolves around the two heroes as they fight side by side. What's more, this is something of a seafaring adventure, as Adol is able to take to the water aboard his own ship; naval battles and island-hopping exploration await.
Ys X isn't the only Falcom title NIS America will be releasing this year. The first game in the new Trails saga, Trails through Daybreak, is set for the summer, also on PS5 and PS4. It's turning into a busy year for fans of Japanese RPGs!

Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
Been waiting for this one! I honestly thought we might have to wait until 2025, looking at how long localization took for Ys 9, so I'm happy with this.
Excited for this. Looks a step up from Ys IX.
As a big fan of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, I’m really looking forward to Nordics on PS5. Just glad it’s this year!
Oh yes, I’ve recently become a fan of this series.
@Ainu20 Yeah even though we're still behind on Falcom games here in the west, NISA is at least localising them at a steady pace. It could be a lot worse!
Day 1 to my long list of games from Japan this year. Wonder if they will ever shorten the release cadence in the west
