Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will get a new free DLC, Tower of Treachery . The new update will be out on PC on March 28th, with a console version to follow.
Developer Fatshark says that this new followup to the previous Trail of Treachery update will conclude the Treacherous Adventure saga. It features a new villain, the necromancer Sofia Fuegonasus, that the Ubersreik 5 will eventually come to face when they investigate some strange developments. Sofia won't be easy to find or to defeat, so make sure that your team is well equipped and ready when starting this second chapter.
This update will bring a new mission to finish out this storyline,13 new in-game challenges, and complete the two-adventure map set.
There’s a new teaser trailer to give a peek at what is going on, the chaos and challenge to come, and a little about why Sofia and her plans might be so dangerous. It also clues us in that the tower of the title is a very important word, since there's a climb involved. On higher difficulties, expect this climb to feature a number of additional challenges.
Fatshark producer Sacha Karsenty, in a press release, says that, “After releasing the first part of the adventure with Trail of Treachery, we're super intrigued to see the players’ reaction to this second and final installment. A lot of work and passion has gone into creating this new villain, Sofia — hopefully, our players will like her as much as we do.”
Tower of Treachery follows the recent fifth anniversary of Vermintide 2, which came out back in 2018. The new DLC update will be free for all Vermintide 2 owners. Console versions will follow the March 28th PC release sometime in early Q2.
