A couple of weeks ago, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum got its best trailer yet, but fans have been kept in the dark when it comes to the release date. Until today, that is — publisher Nacon has finally announced when the action adventure will make its debut. The game comes to PS5 and PS4 on 25th May 2023.
Playing as the titular creature, the game charts his journey as he pursues the One Ring. Much of the gameplay appears to involve a mix of platforming and stealth, while the narrative seems to be a big focus, involving many familiar faces from Tolkein's books.

Yikes. You can see in even the brief gameplay clips that the Gollum's animations are either really stiff, or not even finalized yet. Or they're using really old pre-alpha footage, which would also be a very bad sign. I predict an entertaining train wreck if this is out in less than two months lol
