Long ago (over six years at this point) veteran Grand Theft Auto producer and Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies announced he was breaking away to form a new studio, Build A Rocket Boy, in order to make a new open-world game called Everywhere. Aside from a teaser trailer revealed at last year's Gamescom, we haven't seen or heard much from the project, but today, some new details were revealed.
It seems Everywhere is aiming to be an open-world focal point for all sorts of unique challenges and experiences. According to a report from Video Games Chronicle, there will be a core social hub called “Utropia,” which will link together various districts that will provide different experiences – third-person action stages, racing, ect. Creation tools will let players make and share their own action stages, racing courses, and more. It sounds like the goal is to make something that’s a mashup between GTA Online and Fortnite, and don’t worry, blockchain and NFTs are not part of the experience.
In addition to the core Everywhere experiences described above, the hub will also host separate standalone games, with the newly-revealed MindsEye being the first of these. MindsEye is a story-driven action game, featuring a more detailed AAA-style presentation (the Everywhere world has more of a Fortnite-esque look). A brief teaser trailer was released for MindsEye, which mostly focused on the game’s characters and story, although we also get a brief glimpse at some GTA-like driving and shooting gameplay. Check the trailer out for yourself, below.
