Daedalic Entertainment and Nacon have announced a May 25 release date for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.
The fantasy game will hit Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store this spring, before being released for Nintendo Switch later this year.
Taking place in parallel to the events described in The Fellowship of the Ring, Gollum is a story-driven action adventure in which players embark on a quest to retrieve the One Ring.
It has an original story that takes players to several regions of Middle-earth and features familiar faces from J.R.R. Tolkien’s books.
Revealed in 2019 and originally scheduled for release in 2021, the game has been delayed on several occasions.
Last May, it was announced that all versions of Gollum barring the Switch one would be released in September 2022.
The first gameplay trailer arrived last June, but the following month co-publishers Nacon and Daedalic said the game had been delayed by “a few months”.
