After a rocky release in October 2022, has managed to find stable footing within the first-person shooter genre, and this should only become increasingly true with the release of Season 4. As with the past three seasons, this massive update will entail plenty of exciting new features for players to look forward to. Although it's still some time away, tanks, damage dealers, and supports alike can each prepare for the new season with all the information that's been gathered thus far.
For the time being, the constant stream of updates seems to be a luxury limited to 's PvP mode, rather than its promised PvE mode. Although both were originally meant to release as a package deal, the co-op campaign was delayed, much to the dismay of some longstanding players. PvE is one of many additions that players can expect from in 2023, but so far, next to nothing is known about the upcoming game mode. Luckily, the same can't be said for Season 4, as details about its release date, new hero, battle pass, and map changes have slowly been accruing over time.
Season 4 doesn't have a concrete release date just yet, but based on the scheduling of previous seasons, players can likely expect to see it drop in early April. Each season so far has run for nine weeks, and considering that Season 3 began on February 7, this then places the start of Season 4 on April 11. Ever since the original, Blizzard has typically performed server or game updates on Tuesdays; this lines up perfectly with an April 11 release date for Season 4.
