Keeping your trading cards safe and in pristine condition is of the utmost importance if you're a serious collector. Gone are the days of cramming a shiny Blastoise into your pocket and going about your day - yes, that example is pulled from personal experience. Right behind keeping your cards safe on the priority list when it comes to storing your collection is making sure it still looks good. Ultimate Guard has been helping out with that for more than a decade, and now it has officially teamed up with Magic: The Gathering's creators to further those efforts.
Ultimate Guard confirmed this week that it has collaborated with Wizards of the Coast to create what will hopefully be the first of many official MTG lines, perfect for storing and transporting your collection. Ultimate Guard's general manager notes that the Patrick Hildebrant partnership has opened the door to "a wealth of creative possibilities" suggesting team-up collections will coming our way for years to come.
Less about the future and more about the now, and the first Ultimate Guard x Magic: The Gathering collection has already been revealed - Bloomburrow. MTG's Bloomburrow expansion is slated to release on August 2, 2024, and Ultimate Guard's matching set will be released at around the same time, given an August 2024 release window by the accessory manufacturers.
There will be a lot of Bloomburrow-themed stuff available on or shortly after the set's release. Ultimate Guard has created Sidewinder 100+ Xenoskin deck boxes decked out in Calamity Beasts of Bloomburrow artwork, Zipfolio 360 Xenoskin binders, an Omnihive 1000+ Xenoskin, a sustainable RTE Boulder 100+, and a Play-Mat. While an image of Ultimate Guard's deck box has already been shown off, what the Play-Mat is going to look like has not. That's likely because it's confirmed to include spoilers for the Bloomburrow set's main storyline.
