We're closing in on a year since the release of Pokemon Sleep. A game/lifestyle app The Pokemon Company had been radio silent on for so long after its announcement that some of us were convinced it had all been a dream. Pokemon Sleep users have their phones unlocked next to them while they slumber and various Pokemon will be waiting to meet them in the morning depending on their sleep style. There will naturally be some sort of anniversary event announced for Sleep's first birthday, but if you really want to celebrate a year of the game in style, you can do so in an official Pokemon Sleep suite.
Tokyo's Grand Hyatt hotel revealed today that it has transformed its chairman suite into Pokemon Sleep's Greengrass Isle. The suite has a green carpet down to replicate the grass, shrubs and flowers dotted around to mimic the foliage, and even a tiny tent to sleep in, although there appears to be a bed too. There's also a giant Snorlax plush in the room with four smaller Pokemon plushes gathered around it which you can take with you at the end of your stay.
There will be other Pokemon Sleep-themed amenities in the room that guests can take with them at the end of their stay. A t-shirt, backpack, wellness bag, and water bottle - all Pokemon Sleep-branded and all free. Well, not free. You'll have to pay to stay in the room, and it's going to cost you a lot to do so. The suite will be available from July 1 through September 1, 2024, and it will cost 275,050 yen ($1,777) per night.
That's a lot of money, but there is even more than we've already covered included in the price. You will also get a Pokemon-themed dinner and breakfast for two delivered to your room. Among the special food you'll get to try is a Snorlax burger and actual items you can make for your Pokemon in Pokemon Sleep. If you stay in the Hyatt Pokemon Suite, you will be some of the only people in the world who actually know what Pokemon Sleep's Lucky Chant Apple Pie and Craft Soda Pop taste like.
