The next game in the EA Originals line of ‘indie’ titles has been leaked.
Dealabs user billbil-kun, who has been reliably leaking game information for years, says the publisher’s next game will be called Tales of Kenzera: ZAU.
The game will be developed by Surgent Studios, a UK-based transmedia studio who signed a deal with EA back in March 2021 when it was known as Silver Rain Games.
According to billbil-kun’s report, the game will be a 2.5D side-scrolling adventure platformer, similar to the Trine games.
The game will reportedly star “a young protagonist wearing two necklaces, who is endowed with magical powers on his head and his fists”.
The game’s announcement will reportedly be made soon, with a release date planned for April 23, 2024, and is set to cost $17.99 / £16.19.
Although not officially confirmed by billbil-kun, it seems very likely that Tales of Kenzera: ZAU will be revealed at The Game Awards this week.
Surgent Studios’ official X (formerly Twitter) account bio says it’s “creating a game with EA Originals”, and its founder, BAFTA-nominated actor and producer Abubakar Salim, teased on his own account that big news is coming this week.

“The next seven days are going to be the craziest seven days of my last decade,” Salim said last Thursday. “Watch this space.”
Then, on Saturday, he posted: “Today is going to be interesting. The beginning of what’s going to be, as I shared, a crazy seven days.”
The Game Awards will be streamed live from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 7.
Other announcements set to be made during the show include the release date for the Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 and teased
