Controversial MMO Magic to Master Announces February Launch
It has been a while since we’ve heard about controversial MMO Magic to Master. The game had a crowdfunding campaign that had been found to have used fake testimonials, including one credited to MMORPG.com. The team pulled those reviews, claiming they were placeholders never meant to be published. After working to settle down controversies with crowdfunding and a copyright infringement accusation from Gameforge, the team at Laniatius has released a new video with a launch window for their “Oriental Hack and Slash” MMO.
The new video is a short one, and the team says that the video offers “a sneak peek into the magical world awaiting you. Unveil the mysteries, witness the extraordinary, and mark your calendars for the grand launch in February 2024!”. While the trailer does offer a look at some gameplay and features, much of the content is accompanied by quick cuts that don’t show off the world or action that well. The team is preparing for a February launch, though, and this was to announce the window, so it does accomplish this well enough.
Magic to Master will focus on hack and slash action, PvM, and battleground PvP in a world with additional content to explore and challenge. The team has held playtests and showed off some of the world and features in the past, so the quick cut trailer isn’t all that’s out there.
Still, it will remain to be seen if the team can come out from under those previous controversies, including the fake testimonials and anadmitted false copyright strike against a YouTuber, Callum Upton. Upton discussed the game and its Kickstarter campaign, including details on the fake quotes.
Looks like a potential uphill battle ahead, but it seems Magic to Master launch is actually coming soon.
