Palworld players have figured out that the easiest way to get airborne in the game is to stand on a Pal Sphere as it's capturing a Pal, which somehow sends you flying upwards.
Palworld has only been out for a couple of days, but it's already shaping up to be one of the biggest surprises of 2024. Not only has it been received surprisingly well, but it's also already garnered a massive audience that's managed to break into Steam's top 10 for concurrent players. No one expected to see Palworld fly so high in the Steam charts, but I guess it must have been standing on a Pal Sphere.
One of the best parts of the early days of a game like Palworld is seeing its player base figure out creative ways to break the game and exploit it. So far, it doesn't seem like there are too many ways to mess with Palworld and do things that the game wasn't expecting, but players have at least already found one surprising use for Pal Spheres.
Just like Pokeballs in Pokemon, Pal Spheres are used to capture weakened Pals and then recruit them as pocket monsters that can fight for the player and help them out with all their building and gun-toting needs. For some weird reason, though, they also seem to act like rockets if a human is standing on top of them as they capture a Pal.
Despite what the name implies, Pal Spheres can actually be used on humans as well, which seems to mind control them and let the player command them like they were a Pal.
This was shown off by Redditor cptjimmy42 over on the Palworld subreddit, with a post titled "Don't do this...". In the video, cptjimmy42 is shown standing on a Pal Sphere just as it captures a creature, which sends them flying high into the air and then sadly crumpling to bits when they hit the ground. Fall damage is a thing in Palworld and it is not a fan of you breaking gravity.
Although this might at first seem like an easy way to get yourself killed, it seems that cptjimmy42 has since figured out how to prevent death by using the glider before
