A report stemming from a Disney Parks blog post earlier today suggested that the upcoming Ubisoft game would be coming out in late 2024. However, Ubisoft has since clarified the post in a statement.
In a statement made to IGN, Ubisoft clarified that Outlaws is simply planned for a general release window of “2024,” with no official timetable noted. IGN’s original report cited a since-edited Disney Parks blog post, which advertised the game and noted that it was set to release in “late 2024.”
As of now, however, it seems like Ubisoft and Disney would prefer to keep the release date vague. No new information about the game has been released as of yet, although the Disney Parks blog post did have a brief synopsis of it.
“Experience the first-ever open world Star Wars game, set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi,” reads the game’s official description. “Explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. Risk it all as Kay Vess, a scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. Fight, steal, and outwit your way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as you join the galaxy’s most wanted. If you’re willing to take the risk, the galaxy is full of opportunity.”
Star Wars Outlaws is being developed by Massive Entertainment and is set to release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2024. It is a single-player open-world action-adventure game that lets players assume the role of outlaw scoundrel Kay Vess as they explore the Star Wars universe.
The game was originally unveiled during an Xbox Games Showcase last year, where a ten minute clip of gameplay footage was shown off. The game’s development is led by game director Mathias
