Naughty Dog has had some rough news this past few days. We had the alert of layoffs along with the recent industry insider claiming that the multiplayer-focused game set within The Last of Us universe has been killed off. However, a new discovery on LinkedIn reveals that Naughty Dog is working on a remastered edition of The Last of Us Part II. This might be an indicator that we’re going to see a PC release soon. However, an official announcement to the public has yet to come out.
Those of you who are waiting to enjoy The Last of Us Part II on the PC might find an announcement coming your way soon. Thanks to a Reddit post, we’re finding out that Mark Pajarillo’s LinkedIn profile unveils a remastered edition in the works. That’s according to a description provided under his job experience as Lead Outsource Artists at Naughty Dog. Mark has noted that they are responsible for environment art assets, weapons, and interactive props for two iconic titles, The Last of Us Part I and The Last of Us Part II: Remastered.
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that another release is coming. Typically, we see Sony exclusives launch on the PC after they have been made available for a few years on the PlayStation consoles. Likewise, The Last of Us Part II only launched on the PlayStation 4. So, there could be an incentive to bring out another edition of the game, which would also see a launch on the PlayStation 5. That would allow for higher resolution, loading times, and DualSense features like haptic feedback.
Of course, since none of the platforms are mentioned in the LinkedIn profile, we can only assume that this is a release slated for both PC and PlayStation 5 platforms. There’s a good chance that we’ll see this release first
