Shortly after announcing that it would be working on reducing the number of cheaters in competitive shooter THE FINALS, developer Embark Studios has now released a major update for the game. Numbered at patch 1.4.0, the update brings with it “major changes” to anti-cheat detection.
Along with bolstering the anti-cheat, the update also brings with it a host of balance changes and bug fixes. For example, the cost to activate Recon Senses has been reduced from 2 to 1, and the health of the Mesh Shield has been reduced from 1,250 to 1,100.
The update has also updated some of the maps in THE FINALS, with the Vegas map getting better destruction results and a repulsor getting added to the flying saucers in the Alien Invasion event.
THE FINALS was released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with a shadow drop during The Game Awards 2023 earlier this month. The game offers fast-paced movement with an emphasis on completing objectives for teams of 3. For more details, check out our review.
